We have listed several of the most common problems resulting in partial or total picture failure. Choose the link below, that best describes the problem with your picture(s). We hope the resulting explanation will assist you in determining POSSIBLE causes of the failure, based on YOUR observation of the failed image. Accurate diagnosis may require a more experienced, trained eye, and/or sophisticated equipment and tests. The information below may at best, give you an indication of your problem and some possible solutions.
- Totally black photographs, totally clear negatives, or totally black transparencies (slides)
- Totally white photographs, totally black negatives, or totally clear transparencies (slides)
- Foggy looking pictures with poor contrast
- High contrast pictures with burned areas
- Flashed out, burned subjects and faces
Off-Color images (Color Balance Problems)
- Yellow/Orange color shift
- Greenish color shift
- Ghost looking images, or subject motion
- Blurred patches or blurred spots
- The subject is fuzzy, the foreground or background is sharp
- Uneven, multi-colored, or white patches
- Even, colored hues over the entire image and film
- Regularly spaced lines, running across the image, between sprocket holes on the film
- Partial images
- Reflections
- Red Eye
- Flash fall off
- White dust on prints
- Black dust on prints and slides
- Scratches
In many instances, poor picture quality can be exaggerated by, or the result of poor photo processing. We are monitored by the Kodak Colorwatch System(R), using Eastman Kodak's Kodatel(R) software for optimum quality control. Our prints are made on premium Kodak Royal(R) and Kodak Professional Portra(R) papers. Give us a try. We think you will see the camera store difference.
